Introduction Operations Strategy & Excellence (OSE) is responsible to lead the Operations sector striving for Operational Excellence (Blue DNA). In this journey it is important that the right set of capabilities are available, improved and matured. The capabilities that require breakthroughs are derived from and aligned with the ASML Product strategy.
The Design team within OSE has the responsibility to orchestrate the Strategy Deployment process (Hoshin Kanri). Furthermore, the Design team will maintain a Transformation roadmap in which the priorities are set for and dependencies are managed between the different breakthroughs. In order to drive this process, the Design team will:
Bring Industry best practices and standards to Operations combined with new Scientific technologies and solutions
Drive fact based decision making using Industry standards and benchmarks
Realize standardization by leveraging the House of Capabilities and unleash the power of ASML by a well maintained and orchestrated network of Competence Centers
Together with the OSE Business Partners the roadmap with Capability breakthroughs and transformations will be translated towards a balanced portfolio. These selected breakthroughs will drive the Operations Portfolio and is aligned and synchronized with the long term Operations Mission and Vision. The House of Capabilities is used as framework and common language to align with the other sectors within ASML.

uses his/her deep knowledge of Operations, Industrialization and supply chain to early detect from -amongst others- the future product roadmap relevant new technologies/competencies/performance ambitions for Operations.
defines and leads the yearly Operations’ Industrial Strategy cycle.
leads strategic studies that would enable Operations to be ready in time and to deliver the required performance on Cost, Quality, Delivery and Safety
drives the decision making process in order to start strategic programs
represents Operations in relevant make-buy decisions.
Job Description
Early detects from the ASML product roadmap new capabilities for Operations and translates those into relevant programs.
Get the right input on the Product roadmap and represents Operations in make-buy decisions. Teams up with Strategic Sourcing and D&E.
Advises Operations Leadership team on developing new competencies in-house and on make-buy strategies.
Ensures state-of-the art insights in new manufacturing competencies such as 3D Printing and Automation (eg Smart Factory) and defines relevant Smart Factory programs that support Operations in reaching required future performance levels. Teams up with Industrial Engineering in D&E.
Contributes to defining & implementing Operations & Industrial Strategies
Pro-actively looks for Operations opportunities such as economies of scale, leverage Operations’ competencies across the globe, in- and outsourcing.
Defines, prepares, leads, executes and delivers programs and/or projects (e.g. make or buy, Operations Impact Assessment, New Manufacturing Competencies introduction ) according to objectives and deliverables.
Education Masters in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or any other technical studies. A consultancy background would be a pre.
Experience 10+ years in Operations, supply chain and/or industrialization. Experienced in Strategy Development and Program management. Deep understanding of Operations and its performance. Experience in the semiconductor industry and/or in the high tech equipment industry.

Context of the position The sector Operations consists of Customer Service, Manufacturing and the supporting functions (Supply Chain Management, Integrated Business Planning, Corporate Real Estate and Environment Health & Safety). The role of the Operations Strategies & Excellence (OSE) department within Operations is to add Operational Excellence by:
designing the long term Operations Strategy,
defining the portfolio of strategic programs and
delivering and deploying the selected transformations
This department develops and leverages Operations’ talents in ASML and strengthens the connections on strategic topics with other sectors in ASML in particular Development & Engineering, Strategic Sourcing, Corporate functions and IT.
