Job Mission
Transfer Entropy (TE) is a research field part of Information Theory which is used to analyze time series data. In ASML we use TE to analyze the data generated by ASML systems in order to understand better how they operate. This, in turn allows us to gain fundamental understanding of the physical processes present in the ASML systems. This work is a the interface of fundamental and applied research.

Job Description
You will be asked to investigate fundamental theoretical questions on TE and to apply these findings to real-world data and problems. You will be working in a multidisciplinary team where you are expected both to collaborate in the solution of problems and to work autonomously.

Education
You are a Master student in Applied Mathematics or Statistics with a good knowledge of Matlab and Python. The ideal candidate should be a good communicator and should be able to come up with original ideas to solve fundamental questions in Research. The desire to apply theoretical results to business problems is a must. Thereby, the English language is required, both written and verbally.

This is a Graduation Internship for 5 days a week with duration of a minimum 6 months.

Please keep in mind that we can only consider students (who are enrolled at a school during the whole internship period) for our internships and graduation assignments.
